LEXX

Design · Build · Perfect

LEXX is a standalone digital workbench for luthiers and guitar builders. It combines structured parts inventory, custom instrument projects, component selection, engineering compatibility, build sheets, and an evolving 3D assembly system inside one focused application.

Nicknamed LexxLuthier and occasionally Lexi, LEXX is being designed less like a generic configurator and more like a working lexicon of the physical decisions that make an instrument fit, function, and ultimately exist.

What LEXX Already Does

A guitar builder with a memory, a rulebook, and a workshop ledger.

The current development build already moves beyond a parts picker. LEXX stores projects, inventories components, assembles configurable builds, evaluates compatibility, and produces build-ready output.

01 · Inventory

Parts Management

Add, edit, duplicate, delete, search, import, and export guitar parts through a shop-friendly inventory system. Database IDs stay hidden behind human-readable categories and labels.

02 · Projects

Instrument Profiles

Create guitar projects around instrument type, handedness, string count, scale length, intended use, notes, and build-specific decisions.

03 · Builder

Expanded Guitar Assembly

Build from body, neck, fretboard, nut, bridge, tuners, pickups, pickguard, electronics, hardware, finish, strings, and more.

04 · Engineering

Compatibility Engine

LEXX already evaluates string-count, scale, neck-joint, neck-pocket, bridge-routing, pickup-routing, tuner-layout, and selected dimensional compatibility with info, warning, and danger results.

05 · Output

Build Sheets & Exports

Saved assemblies generate structured build sheets with selected components, estimated weight, compatibility findings, and exportable HTML and JSON data.

06 · Foundation

Standalone Application

A Python-launched local application wraps the PHP/SQLite site, preserving a dependable admin, security, project, and database workflow while new guitar intelligence grows underneath.

The Luthier Workbench

Built around the way parts actually interact.

A guitar is not a pile of attractive components. It is a network of interfaces, dimensions, mounting systems, clearances, materials, and decisions. LEXX is being shaped around those relationships.

✓Neck joint family and pocket/heel fit analysis
✓Bridge routing and body-thickness compatibility
✓Pickup route validation
✓Tuner layout and bore-size checks
✓Scale and string-count mismatch detection

Development Status

Far enough along to work. Early enough to keep getting smarter.

LEXX is currently in active pre-alpha development. The application shell, inventory administration, user system, project workflow, expanded Builder, database migration path, and first compatibility engine are operating.
